ADVANCED AUTOCAD

Course Information:

Credit:  1 Unit          Meets Block 5 or 6

 NO FOOD OR DRINK IN THE LAB, IT WILL BE TAKEN AWAY FROM YOU.

NO INTERNET ACCESS UNLESS TEACHER APPROVED.

Prerequisites:   Basic and AutoCAD Drafting or equal     

Required Text: AutoCAD and its applications Advanced Shumaker Madsen Autodesk

Engineering Drawing and Design   Jensen/Helsel  McGraw Hill

Supplies:  (2-3)  3-1/2 diskettes Double Sided High Density (DSHD)

            Optional:  100 Mb Zip Disk  or CDWriteable

            Drafting Kit (See additional handout)

            3 Ring Binder

Course Description:

The student is introduced to the advanced application in AutoCAD. Problems in Mechanical, Architectural, and Civil Drawing will be assessed.  The student will use advanced layering and plotting techniques.  Students will construct wireframe 3-d models and use rendering to give texture to drawings.  Students will be graded in two areas: testing and activities.  Cost will consist of the student purchasing some supplies.
